Like rust, technology never sleeps. A lack of continuous improvement often leads to obsolescence. There are devices collecting dust in closets across America.

Earlier this summer, beauty tech company Droplette rolled out an improved version of its micro-infuser device that drives skincare ingredients deeper than with traditional topicals alone, offering consumers an improved experience and results in their skincare routine.

The new iteration make look the same, but, Droplette 2 has major upgrades in hardware, software and the mobile app, according to the Boston-based tech company. It has received funding from NASA, the National Institutes of Health, and Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. Droplette was also recognized as one of Time’s Best Invention of the Year for 2022.

“It’s still the same recognizable shape, but internally, Droplette 2 has only 5% of the same internal design as the previous version,” CEO and Co-Founder Madhavi Gavini told Happi. “There’s a sleeker design with a smaller charger so it’s easier to travel with. There’s better connectivity and expanded memory with built-in Bluetooth 5.0 technology, and a 10-Volt Pump for a stronger delivery into the skin.”

Droplette 2 delivers micromist particles at a high velocity, allowing the brand’s serums to get deep into the skin for more effective delivery of skincare ingredients. It reportedly delivers skincare ingredients 20x deeper past the skin barrier than topicals for clinical-grade results at home.

There are also specific treatment modes to target personal skin concerns such as blemishes, under-eye treatments and lip plumping.

New Skincare Regomen

Recently, Droplette released a “Daily Defense” regimen helps to fight against sun-related skin damage, from dark spots to wrinkles that includes Tranexamic Eraser capsules that help skin become more resilient to environmental aggressors, Retinol Renewer capsules to smooth out wrinkles, and Collagen Hydrofiller for hydrated, glowing skin.

In addition, with the new device, Droplette offers complimentary 1 1 real-time appointments with licensed estheticians for personalized recommendations and regimens

According to Droplette’s executive team, with the advanced app, stronger device connectivity and one-on-one consultations,  Droplette 2 users have every tool at their disposal to achieve maximum results.

“The advancements in technology and the things we are able to do create results that are unmatched compared to applying serums and creams topically,” he said. “Science and tech is such a big part of our lives in other ways, so why not in beauty and skincare routine as well.”

Looking ahead, Droplette is looking to collaborate with some” inspiring companies” in the near future, she told Happi.

“There are a lot of exciting things in the works that our current Droplette users and future ones will be really excited about,” said Gavini.

For Gavini, consumer interest in tech in skincare and beauty continues to grow—and for good reason.

“The advancements in technology and the things we are able to do create results that are unmatched compared to applying serums and creams topically, she said. “Science and tech is such a big part of our lives in other ways, so why not in beauty and skincare routine as well.”
